Georgian Delegation Reviews Uzbekistan’s Pharmaceutical Industry
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — As part of a summit held at the Tashkent Pharma Park technopark, a meeting took place with a delegation from Georgia, which included representatives of the State Agency for Regulation of Medical and Pharmaceutical Activities under the Ministry of Labor, Health, and Social Protection of Georgia, as well as officials from the ministry itself.
Abdulla Azizov, Director of the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry of Uzbekistan, provided the guests with a detailed overview of the current state of the country’s pharmaceutical sector. He also outlined the investor-friendly conditions and business development opportunities created within the framework of the Tashkent Pharma Park project.
The parties discussed key aspects of pharmaceutical education, the activities of the vocational college-university system, regulatory frameworks, and quality standards, including EU GMP, US GMP/FDA, and membership in PIC/S.
Special attention was given to reference pricing and parallel import issues, as well as prospects for further cooperation in developing Uzbekistan’s pharmaceutical industry.
