GEODIS Supporting MND in Transporting Equipment for the Chimgan Resort

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — International logistics operator GEODIS is deploying a specially designed European multimodal logistics solution to support French group MND in delivering equipment for the all-season development project at the Chimgan resort in Uzbekistan.

Starting in March 2026, equipment for the construction of the mountain ski resort will be dispatched from several production sites across Europe. To deliver the cargo to the construction site located in the heart of the Chatkal Mountains, GEODIS will employ a multimodal transport scheme.

GEODIS is providing logistics support to MND, a French industrial group specializing in ropeways, snow-making systems, mountain safety, and infrastructure for active and extreme leisure activities. MND is supplying the key equipment for the future Chimgan tourist resort, situated to the northeast of Tashkent.

GEODIS has been supporting the project for some time, having already organized 92 deliveries over more than a year, including four oversized convoys that brought ropeways and infrastructure components to Uzbekistan. The partnership between GEODIS's European Road Network division and MND is now entering a new phase, with the next delivery stage scheduled for early March 2026.

The equipment to be transported includes chairlifts and gondola lifts, alpine rodelbahn attractions, zip lines, and other installations required for the development of the ski resort. These deliveries form part of a strategic project to create a major mountain tourism cluster that is expected to become one of Central Asia's leading leisure destinations.

Given significant geopolitical constraints that rule out transit through Russia and Iran, GEODIS specialists have developed an alternative, reliable, and optimized logistics solution. It combines road and sea transport using tautliner semi-trailers, allowing cargo to be moved without transshipment between points of origin and destination. Equipment will be dispatched from several European sites via the ports of Sète in France and Trieste in Italy, then by sea through Turkey and across the Caspian Sea to Uzbekistan, with an average transit time of 30 to 45 days.

GEODIS Executive Vice President for European Road Network Marc Vollet noted that this highly complex international project clearly demonstrates the company's expertise in building tailored logistics chains when traditional routes are unavailable, with seamless supply continuity, timeline control, and long-term support for industrial clients on strategically significant international projects remaining the key priorities.
