Gas Imports in Uzbekistan Exceeded Exports from January to November 2025
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In the first eleven months of 2025, Uzbekistan’s gas imports decreased slightly by 1.2%, totaling US$1.45 billion, according to data from the National Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.
Monthly imports fluctuated significantly: in January, imports stood at US$27.8 million, dropping to US$8 million in February and US$2.7 million in March. April and May saw growth to US$112 million and US$135 million, respectively, with June imports reaching US$286.3 million.
After some fluctuations in the summer months, imports rose to US$190.2 million in October and reached a record US$334.3 million in November.
During the same period, gas exports increased by 5.2%, totaling US$624.1 million. Monthly exports ranged from US$21.8 million in January to US$105.4 million in April, then declined in the summer months, reaching US$55.9 million in November—the highest since July.
Gas production in Uzbekistan from January to November 2025 amounted to 38.9 billion cubic meters, down 5.1% compared to 41.0 billion cubic meters in the same period of the previous year.
For the same period, crude oil and petroleum product exports totaled US$604.5 million, marking a 15.2% increase year-on-year. Electricity exports grew by more than 50%, reaching over US$152.2 million, an increase of 58.4%.
