Garbage Truck Catches Fire in Tashkent, Damaging Parked Car
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A garbage truck caught fire in Tashkent, and although the flames were quickly extinguished, they spread to a nearby parked car.
According to the press service of the Tashkent Emergency Situations Department, the incident occurred on 11 February in the Sergeli district.
The fire was reported to rescuers at 18:47. Firefighters arrived within eight minutes and fully extinguished the blaze by 19:07.
No one was injured, but a nearby Cobalt car sustained damage from the fire.
Eyewitnesses on social media reported hearing a loud bang; however, the Emergency Ministry clarified that the sound was caused by a tire bursting on the burning truck and that there was no explosion.
The agency later confirmed that the garbage truck belonged to the private company Akmal Ta’mir Servis Alternativ Xizmat Ko‘rsatish, not the city’s municipal enterprise Maxsustrans.
