Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 6 August 2020, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Furkat Sidikov held talks with the Executive Director of the Saudi Development Fund (SDF) Khalid Al-Khudayri in the format of a video conference.

During the conversation, the parties discussed the state and prospects of strengthening cooperation between Uzbekistan and the SDF.

It was noted that the financial resources of the SDF in Uzbekistan are used in such socially significant projects as equipping educational and medical institutions, housing construction in rural areas, reconstruction of highways, improvement of water supply systems. To date, 4 projects worth US$88 million have been implemented in Uzbekistan with the participation of the SDF, 6 projects worth US$186 million are at the completion stage.

Khalid Al-Khudayri expressed interest in enhancing cooperation with Uzbekistan in a bilateral format and within the Arab Coordination Group, as well as in increasing funding for socio-economic projects in Uzbekistan.

During the talks, an exchange of views took place on other issues of mutual interest.
