Fujian and Uzbekistan Expand Trade and Industry Ties
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation from Uzbekistan’s Navoi region, led by Governor Normat Tursunov, concluded a two-day visit to China’s Fujian province on 18 March.
The visit highlights the expanding partnership between two key hubs of the Belt and Road Initiative and supports a shared agenda in industrial technology, trade, and cultural exchange.
During the visit, the delegation, together with local authorities, inaugurated the Navoi Region Exhibition and Trade Platform in the city of Nan’an.
The platform is designed to facilitate the entry of high-quality stone products from the Navoi region into the Chinese market, while also enabling Nan’an to showcase its industrial capabilities in Central Asia.
The delegation visited high-tech enterprises, including Fujian Qunfeng Machinery and the eco-friendly JOMOO factory, to discuss joint projects in trade, industrial parks, artificial intelligence, and tourism.
The activities reflect a broader momentum toward subnational diplomacy. In 2025, Fujian actively supported exchanges with Uzbekistan, including participation in the Uzbekistan–China Regional Cooperation Forum and meetings with Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to China, Farhod Arziev, as well as governors of Samarkand and Syrdarya regions.
Delegations from Uzbekistan’s Tourism Committee and the Samarkand region also paid return visits to Fujian, while Deputy Prime Minister for Trade and Investment Jamshid Khodjaev led a delegation to the 25th China International Fair for Investment and Trade.
