Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has approved a decree titled “On Measures to Organize Effective Consumer Protection.”

According to the document, starting from 1 March 2026, the sale of goods with expired shelf life that are digitally labeled will be automatically blocked by the national product tracking system. Such items will also be excluded from receipt generation through cash registers.

Between 15 October 2025 and 1 January 2027, Uzbekistan will launch an experimental mechanism for handling consumer complaints, conducting “mystery shopper” inspections, and performing control purchases — all to be carried out by non-governmental, non-profit organizations (NGOs).

To enhance complaint handling efficiency, a new digital interaction system connecting consumers, businesses, NGOs, and government agencies will be introduced on December 1, 2025. This platform will enable prompt responses to complaints and systematic monitoring of consumer rights compliance.
