Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) –– The Government of Uzbekistan adopted a resolution “On the phased transfer of higher educational institutions to the self-financing system”.
The resolution approved a list of 10 higher educational institutions that are transitioning from 1 January 2020, as an experiment, to a self-financing system.
At the same time, the high scientific and pedagogical potential of these universities, the stability of financial activity, an adequate level of material and technical base, and the high demand for these specialties in the educational services market were taken into account.
Also, a number of additional universities’ tasks have been identified that are switching to a self-financing system.
Among them, the provision of additional educational services, advanced training of specialists in economic sectors and the introduction of other paid services.
According to the resolution, the term for payment of contracts of students studying on a paid-contract basis in the universities, switching to a self-financing system, is determined by agreement by agreement of the parties.
For information, by a presidential resolution from 11 July 2019, starting from 2020, some universities will be transferred to a self-financing system stage-by-stage.
