From India to Italy: Citizens of the Top 20 Countries Coming to Uzbekistan for Education

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — From January to November 2025, a total of 37.2 thousand foreign nationals visited Uzbekistan for educational purposes, according to data from the National Statistics Committee.

Compared to the same period of the previous year, the figure increased by 54.3 percent, indicating a significant rise in foreign interest in the country’s educational opportunities.

The largest number of students arrived from India, totaling 16.3 thousand people. Turkmenistan ranked second with 8.9 thousand citizens, followed by Tajikistan with 2.7 thousand, Pakistan with 1.7 thousand, and China with 1.4 thousand students.

A notable influx was also recorded from South Korea, with 870 arrivals, and from the Kyrgyz Republic, with 823 people coming to Uzbekistan to study.

The top twenty countries whose citizens traveled to Uzbekistan for education also included Egypt with 737 students, the Philippines with 501, the United States with 464, and Türkiye with 357 people.

They were followed by Afghanistan with 291 students, Jordan with 194, the United Kingdom with 179, and Russia with 164 arrivals.

Among countries from Africa and the Middle East, South Africa was represented by 155 students, while Iran accounted for 115.

The list is rounded out by Kazakhstan with 113 students, Bangladesh with 97, and Italy with 94 people arriving in Uzbekistan for educational purposes.
