From 30 December, methane filling stations in Uzbekistan will operate around the clock
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Starting from 09:00 on 30 December, all methane automobile gas filling stations (CNG stations) across the country will resume 24-hour operations. This was announced by the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan.
The transition to the new schedule will allow vehicle owners to refuel at any convenient time of day, including nighttime hours, without queues.
Restrictions on the operation of CNG stations nationwide were introduced on 11 December. At the time, the Ministry of Energy explained the measure by a reduction in gas imports caused by an accident in Turkmenistan’s gas transmission system and emphasized that the restrictions were temporary.
Earlier, Minister of Energy Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov stated that the incident had resulted in a daily gas shortage of around 6 million cubic meters. To stabilize the situation in the Fergana Valley, mobile gas filling stations will be deployed to supply facilities during periods when stationary methane filling stations are closed.
