From 2026, Payment for Waste Collection in Uzbekistan to Be Online Only

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Agency for Waste Management and the Development of the Circular Economy has announced that starting from 1 January 2026, payments for solid household waste collection services for individuals and legal entities will be made exclusively online through all electronic payment systems.

According to the agency, the transition to digital payments aims to create a convenient and transparent payment system and reduce corruption risks in billing. Corresponding instructions have been sent to all sanitation enterprises in Karakalpakstan, the regions, and the city of Tashkent.

In exceptional cases, for remote areas with limited internet access, payment will be possible through commercial bank cash desks and branches of JSC “Uzbekiston Pochtasi.” At the same time, arrears on mandatory payments may result in the temporary suspension of electricity services until full settlement.

The transition to online payments is being implemented in accordance with presidential decrees and Cabinet of Ministers resolutions regulating subscriber accounting and payment procedures for sanitation enterprises and eco-industrial zones.
