From 2026, Individual Entrepreneurs in Uzbekistan To Be Able to Use a Trade Name
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Starting from 1 January 2026, individual entrepreneurs in Uzbekistan will be allowed to use a trade name, whereas currently this option is available only to legal entities.
In preparation for this innovation, the Ministry of Justice, the Business Ombudsman, and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry have been tasked with developing a draft of the revised “Law on Trade Names” by April next year.
Moreover, when key details of an entrepreneur change — such as first name, last name, patronymic, trade name, address, legal form, or other information — the entrepreneur’s data, along with all issued licenses, permits, and notifications, will be automatically updated through the inter-agency electronic interaction system without any additional fees.
Changes to an individual entrepreneur’s first name, last name, and patronymic will be processed through the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ automated “ID Card” system. All other information will be transmitted from the Automated System of State Registration and Registration of Business Entities directly into the “Licenses” information system online.
