From 1 October, Operating Mopeds and Scooters Will Be Allowed Only with Registration and a License

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Starting from 1 October 2025, operating mopeds and scooters will be permitted only if the vehicle is officially registered and the driver holds a Category “A” driving license, the Road Safety Service reminds the public.

Previously, by Government Resolution No. 224 dated 12 April 2025, the deadline for mandatory state registration of mopeds and scooters was extended until 30 September.

The authority emphasized that from 1 October, operating these vehicles without registration and the proper license will be prohibited.

“We urge citizens to complete the registration process in advance and strictly comply with current legislation,” the Road Safety Service stated.

It is reminded that in July 2024, Uzbekistan introduced mandatory state registration for mopeds and scooters in accordance with a government resolution. License plates began to be issued on December 26, 2024, at vehicle registration and examination offices.
