French envoy pays visit to Uzgidromet
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Uzbekistan Jacques-Henry Heuls held talks with Director-general of the Center for hydrometeorology service under the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan (Uzgidromet) within the preparations to the 21st annual of UN climate change conference (COP-21), which will be held in France in December 2015.
Uzgidromet is a state body, which is responsible for climate change issues in Uzbekistan.
Chub underlined important of environment issues for Uzbekistan, in particular, in connection with tragedy of Aral Sea and water resources shortage. He welcomed efforts of France on energy saving and decreasing CO2 emission, as well as signing of agreement within COP-21 in Paris.
Uzbek and French sides will continue their dialogue within international conference “Development of cooperation in the Aral Sea Basin to mitigate consequences of envivonmental catastrophe”, which will be held in Urgench on 28-29 October 2014. The envoy said that the French experts will participate in the conference.
