French envoy holds meetings with heads of Uzbek universities

Rector of Uzbek State University of World Languages Shukhrat Kayumov underlined great interest of students to French language and briefed the envoy on projects on modernization of the university, which was set as the leading institution on reforming teaching of foreign languages in Uzbekistan. It was decided that the French Institutein Uzbekistan will strengthen its assistance directed at supporting the Republican scientific-practical center for developing innovative methods of teaching foreign languages, which will be opened under the university.

Rector of University of World Economic and Diplomacy Nodir Jumaev and French envoy Jacques-Henry Heuls discussed cooperation of the Uzbek institutions with French establishments such as Pantheon-Sorbonne University, National Institute of Oriential languages and civilizations and Havre University. The sides also considered perspectives of cooperation with Université Paris-Dauphine. It was noted that the rector of Uzbek university visited France in March 2013.

The Embassy of France in Uzbekistan said that one young teacher from France teach French language at these two universities.
