French envoy holds meeting with Uzbek Healthcare Minister

The sides underlined with satisfaction that fruitful contacts between Uzbek and French doctors and considered perspectives of development of cooperation. The sides also discussed launch of joint project on preventing nosocomial infections, the press service of the French Embassy in Tashkent said.

Ambassador also talked about “universal coverage of health services”, a goal which France promotes as part of the UN Millennium Development Goals and is aimed at ensuring access for all, without discrimination, to essential health services. Minister Alimov expressed support of Uzbekistan for the adoption of this goal.
