Fraudsters try to seize funds from an electronic accounts

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Today, taking advantage of the fact that there is a quarantine order in other countries, some scammers are trying to get electronic means by sending fake SMS messages to citizens. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Due to the fact that in our republic quarantine has been declared and our citizens are sitting at home, having switched to the “self-isolation” regime, besides, people have anxiety because of a coronavirus pandemic, and this serves the hands of scammers, they try to confuse citizens with their messages and there may be cases of seizing funds from an electronic account.

For example, a fraudster, having given a certain date or coordinates of a geolocation point, can send you an SMS message with the following text: “You have violated the quarantine rule and must pay a fine of five basic estimates values in accordance with Article 54 of the Administrative Responsibility Code”, noting that you can pay the amount of the fine to the indicated card number without leaving your home.

Uzkomnazorat State Inspectorate calls not to believe such messages, never to inform strangers via SMS or phone about the funds in the electronic account or the various codes that exist, in case of such situations, instead of forwarding them to others, it is better to delete, also inform about it to the internal affairs bodies to the number "102".
