France and Uzbekistan Discuss Cooperation on Environment, Climate, and Renewable Energy

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — French Ambassador to Uzbekistan Walid Fouque held his first meeting with Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change Aziz Abdukhakimov.

The two sides discussed upcoming international events on ecology and climate change, emphasizing the importance of ambitious outcomes at the upcoming COP conference in Belém this November.

They also explored areas of cooperation with the French Development Agency and French companies, including projects to mitigate the consequences of the Aral Sea’s disappearance in Karakalpakstan, the development of renewable energy sources, improved water resource management, and waste recycling.

In addition, the meeting touched upon the development of tourism and the teaching of the French language in Uzbekistan, highlighting prospects for expanding cultural and educational cooperation between the two countries.
