Forum on social support of children starts in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The tenth international forum “Social support of children and youth – foundation of prosperity and well-being” started in Tashkent on 4 December 2013.

The forum was organized by the Republican Center for social adaptation of children, Ministry of Public Education, Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education, Ministry of Healthcare, Ministry of Labour and Social Protection at assistance of the UNESCO, UNICEF and Republican Public Children Fund Sen Yolg’iz Emassan.

The international forum is a platform for dialogue and to discuss ideas and opinions in the sphere of social protection of children with disabilities, children without guardians, children in the group social and legal risks, gifted children.

The forum is aimed at boosting activities of the state, public and legislative bodies in social protection of children in social protection of children on processing of the complex of measures on ensuring interests, rights and well-being of children in Uzbekistan.

Among the participants are Senators and MPs of the Oliy Majlis, specialists of the ministries, departments, public organizations and NGOs.

At the forum, the participants presented information on social and psychological services, social works and psychological-pedagogical services to children, social partnership of the state and public organizations, civil society institutes, etc.

Representatives of Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Moldavia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Belgium, Georgica, Greece, Israel, as well as international organizations, accredited in Uzbekistan, are also attending the event.

The participants will also discuss state policy on creating favourable conditions for development of children and youth, support of families with many children, orphans.
