Forum “Erta aniqlа – hayotni saqla” Held in Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 25 October 2025, Tashkent hosted the forum “Erta aniqlа – hayotni saqla” (“Early Detection Saves Lives”), organized as part of the month-long campaign to combat breast and cervical cancer.
The event brought together around 500 participants, including leading oncologists and gynecologists, representatives of international organizations, and women who have faced oncological diseases.
The forum was organized by the Agency for Strategic Reforms in cooperation with the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). Its goal was to create an open platform for sharing experiences, discussing existing barriers, and developing practical solutions to improve early diagnosis, treatment, and psychological support for women affected by cancer.
Throughout October, as part of the national awareness campaign, free screening sessions were held across the country. Major brands and organizations — including Korzinka, Safia, Bon, Kimmy Lab, and the O‘zbechka beauty salon — joined the campaign. With the support of UNFPA, open lectures were held at universities, and specialized training sessions were conducted for journalists covering women’s health issues.
The forum gathered experts from Uzbekistan, Türkiye, Russia, and Georgia representing leading oncology centers. Participants attended cancer education sessions for patients, consultations, mini-trainings, and professional masterclasses for doctors on modern methods of diagnosing and treating breast and cervical cancer. The venue also featured themed zones and a photo exhibition highlighting the importance of early cancer detection.
Special attention was given to psychological support for patients. During the event, a free psycho-oncological support program for women undergoing treatment was launched.
Thanks to the initiative of the Agency for Strategic Reforms and the support of international partners, five state-of-the-art mammography machines were delivered to remote regions of the country. In addition, a group of Uzbek specialists is preparing for training at one of the leading oncology centers in the United States to introduce a multidisciplinary model for breast cancer treatment in Uzbekistan.
All these efforts are aimed at ensuring that every woman in Uzbekistan has access to quality healthcare and can take timely care of her health.
The forum was held within the framework of the Presidential Resolution “On Measures to Improve the System of Monitoring Oncological Diseases Among Women” dated 22 November 2024, which approved the 2025–2030 Cervical and Breast Cancer Control Program.
The Agency for Strategic Reforms, together with the Ministry of Health, continues to monitor the implementation of this program. One of its key objectives is to create a digital ecosystem for cancer monitoring that integrates all stages of the process — from infrastructure and diagnostics to medical training and data transparency. As organizers emphasized, the program’s success depends directly on the reliability of medical data, the professional competence of specialists, and the trust of the population.
