Former Yandex Go Head Timur Aliyev Appointed as CEO of WB Taxi in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Timur Aliyev, former head of Yandex Go’s taxi operations in Uzbekistan, has been appointed CEO of WB Taxi in the country. The announcement was made by RWB, the joint company of Wildberries & Russ.
In his new role, Aliyev will be responsible for establishing a sustainable operational model for WB Taxi and developing partnerships with drivers and taxi fleets.
Prior to joining RWB, he led Yandex Go in Uzbekistan, overseeing the launch of taxi services in seven cities and playing a key role in expanding access to digital urban mobility solutions.
During his tenure at Yandex Go, Aliyev focused on creating a transparent and sustainable ecosystem for drivers. Under his leadership, the country saw the launch of its first fleet taxi service, the “Yandex Fleet” product, a dedicated airport ride service at Tashkent International Airport, and several other initiatives aimed at developing the industry.
Commenting on the appointment, Anatoly Smorgonsky, Director of Technology, Taxi, and Transport Services Development at RWB, noted that Timur Aliyev is one of the most experienced and successful top managers in Uzbekistan’s taxi market.
According to Smorgonsky, the company expects that Aliyev’s accumulated expertise will be a key driver for the growth and development of WB Taxi in Uzbekistan.
