Former Uzbekistan Coach Kapadze Denies Rumors of Indonesia Job, Calls Visit Non-Football Related
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Timur Kapadze, the former head coach of the Uzbekistan national football team, denied media speculation that he is close to being appointed manager of the Indonesian national team, stating that his current visit to Indonesia is not related to football.
The specialist clarified that he is in the country at the invitation of a large tourism company and had not scheduled any formal negotiations or interviews with Indonesian football leadership. Kapadze stated the primary purpose of his trip was to familiarize himself with the region at the host company's initiative.
However, the coach did confirm that he held informal communication with representatives of the Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI).
Kapadze reported a brief conversation with federation official Sumardji, during which they discussed the hypothetical possibility of working in the country. The specialist emphasized that this dialogue was exploratory in nature and did not constitute a formal job offer.
Despite the lack of concrete agreements with the Indonesian side, Kapadze noted that he remains open to constructive professional challenges and is considering all incoming cooperation proposals.
