Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers “On additional measures to ensure compliance with traffic rules” was adopted.
The resolution introduced a mechanism for the collection by customs authorities of relevant fines from foreign drivers of vehicles or other persons who violated the traffic rules on the territory of Uzbekistan when exporting these vehicles from the territory of the republic, and also approved a provision on the collection procedure.
This rule does not apply to vehicles of diplomatic missions of foreign states, consular offices, organizations equated to them, foreign official delegations.
According to the regulation, the relevant fines are levied by the customs authorities on the basis of information provided by the internal affairs bodies online.
The amount of the fine is paid through bank offices or electronic payment systems or self-service terminals at the border customs post.
In case of non-payment of the fine, the vehicle is temporarily detained on the basis of an act for up to 60 days.
If the amount of the fine is not paid within 60 days, then in cooperation with the enforcement authorities and the court, measures will be taken to collect the amount of the debt at the expense of the vehicle.
