The foreign ministers discussed a wide range of issues of interstate relations. In particular, they discussed promising directions for deepening cooperation in the political, trade, economic, investment, cultural, humanitarian and other spheres.
The ministers considered the interaction in the formats “Uzbekistan-European Union”, “Central Asia-EU”, exchanged views on pressing international problems, the press service of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said.
The Foreign Ministers noted that the meeting of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and King Philip VI of Spain on 9 June 2017 in Astana was an important milestone in the Uzbek-Spanish dialogue, which traditionally has a constructive and confidential nature.
Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov spoke about the main provisions of the speech of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on 10 November in Samarkand at the opening of the international conference "Central Asia: One Past and a Common Future, Cooperation for Sustainable Development and Mutual Prosperity" and briefed on the outcome of the forum.
The foreign ministers of the two countries confirmed readiness for diplomatic support to establish and expand direct business contacts between the business circles of Uzbekistan and Spain, as the growth of mutual trade turnover, the implementation of joint production and other projects are equally beneficial to both sides.
The sides also discussed the development of tourism exchanges.
After the completion of the talks, the ministers signed the Agreement between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Kingdom of Spain on air communication and the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Government of the Kingdom of Spain on international road transport.
The signed documents create a legal basis for the development of bilateral cooperation in the transport and communication sphere, and will also expand the geography of transportation of the national carriers of the two countries, the press service of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said.
