Foreign Ministers of Uzbekistan and Bahrain Discuss Expanding Bilateral Cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — During an official visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov, held talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani.
Dr. Al Zayani conveyed greetings to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and expressed satisfaction with the growing relations and cooperation between the two countries. He emphasized Bahrain’s commitment to further expanding bilateral ties across all key sectors.
In turn, Minister Saidov extended greetings from the President of Uzbekistan to the King and the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, thanked the Bahraini side for the warm reception, and confirmed Uzbekistan’s interest in deepening cooperation with Bahrain in political, economic, investment, tourism, and cultural areas.
During the talks, both sides discussed ways to further develop bilateral relations, implement previously signed agreements and memoranda of understanding, and explore opportunities to expand cooperation in the mutual interests of both countries. Special attention was paid to regional security and stability, the need to coordinate efforts for the peaceful resolution of conflicts, and maintaining political consultations on international platforms.
As a result of the meeting, the parties signed an agreement on reciprocal visa exemptions for holders of diplomatic passports.
The negotiations also involved Bahrain’s Ambassador Khaled Youssef Al Jalahma, the Deputy Minister for Political Affairs; Dr. Youssef Abdulkarim Bucheri, Director General for Legal Affairs and Human Rights; Munira Nofal Al Doseri, Head of the Department for Asian and Pacific Affairs, as well as Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to Bahrain, Nodirjon Turgunov, and members of the accompanying delegation.
