Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 20 August 2020, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov had a telephone conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan Hanif Atmar.

During the conversation, the agenda and organizational aspects of the upcoming visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan to Uzbekistan were considered.

Special attention was paid to the issues of further development of cooperation in the energy, transport and communication fields.

The ministers discussed the case of an armed attack on representatives of the Sogdiana Trans subsidiary, which took place on August 20 in the Balkh province of Afghanistan.

Atmar stressed that the competent authorities of the country will conduct a thorough investigation of the circumstances of the incident and bring the persons involved to justice.

The Uzbek side asked to strengthen the security regime for the personnel of companies and enterprises of Uzbekistan operating in Afghanistan.

Other issues of the Uzbek-Afghan agenda were also considered at the talks.
