Foreign investors to be attracted for the development of public utilities

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Government of Uzbekistan is actively working today to attract foreign investment in the utilities sector. In particular, an agreement was signed between the khokim of Tashkent and the director of the Asian Development Bank in Uzbekistan.

The Asian Bank will provide consulting services for the management of the Tashkent city heat supply system on a long-term lease.

As an exclusive consultant to the city khokimiyat on project agreements, the bank will hold a tender to evaluate the proposals of foreign companies. In accordance with the Law on Public-Private Partnership and on the basis of the proposals received, the Asian Development Bank will select the most suitable foreign company and control the process of signing an agreement with Tashteploenergo.

The main objective of this project is the modernization and reconstruction of heat networks, the elimination of existing gaps in the industry and the use of foreign IT technologies.

The project will be carried out with a wide involvement of foreign investors in the municipal sector of Tashkent and using modern methods of managing the heat supply of the city, which, in turn, will make life more comfortable for citizens.
