First Specialized Cargo Train of 2026 Sent from China’s Gansu Province to Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On Sunday, a specialized international cargo train departed from Wuwei, Gansu Province in northwestern China, bound for Uzbekistan. The train consists of 47 wagons carrying 1,300 tons of high-quality coal coke.
The train is headed to Ablik railway station and marks the first international specialized cargo train dispatched from Gansu in 2026.
According to the official website of the Chinese news agency Xinhua, the total value of the coal coke shipment is CNY 4.06 million, equivalent to approximately US$580,000.
The train will leave China through the Khorgos checkpoint in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and continue westward toward Uzbekistan. It is expected to arrive at Ablik station in about nine days.
A representative of the Wuwei Duty-Free Logistics Center, Cao Ke, noted that in recent years the center has actively expanded its international logistics network, establishing six key routes connecting, among other destinations, Central Asian and Central European countries.
These routes cover 22 countries and 46 cities and regions, helping transform the region’s geographic advantages into opportunities for expanding foreign trade.
Cao Ke emphasized that the launch of the new route creates a stable and convenient international logistics corridor, ensuring more efficient access for “Made in Gansu” products and other Chinese goods to markets in Central Asia.
