First Meeting of ECO Tourism Advisory Committee Held in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 26 November 2025, as part of Tourism Week, the first meeting of the Tourism Advisory Committee under the Secretariat of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) was held in Tashkent.

The platform was established following an initiative by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, announced at the 16th ECO Summit in Tashkent in 2023, with the aim of developing the tourism sector, strengthening cooperation among member states, and implementing joint tourism projects.

The event was organized by the Tourism Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Participants included representatives from the ECO Secretariat, national tourism administrations, the private sector, and sector-specific experts from member countries.

The meeting focused on strategic directions for tourism development in the region, the exchange of experiences, coordination between government bodies and the private sector, and the promotion of sustainable practices within the tourism industry.

Participants also discussed President Mirziyoyev’s initiative to develop a “Roadmap for Improving Tourism Services,” aimed at enhancing service quality and creating new opportunities for tourists.
