First international healthcare investment forum takes place in Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The First International Healthcare Investment Forum was held in Tashkent on 16 April 2019, which was attended by government representatives, potential foreign investors and donors, representatives of international organizations and financial institutions, professionals and experts in medicine, as well as media representatives.
The purpose of the event is to familiarize potential foreign investors with the investment potential of medicine and pharmaceuticals, as well as with the measures taken by the state to support foreign capital.
The organizers of the International Health Investment Forum were the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade, the Tashkent city administration, the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry, and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Opening the event, the Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade Sardor Umurzakov noted the observed growth of investment activity in the health sector of the republic, one of the most capital-intensive and dynamically developing industries. In this regard, emphasis was placed on developing partnerships with international financial institutions: projects are currently being implemented with the support of the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, the Islamic Development Bank Group and other financial donors.
In conclusion, the Minister called on foreign and domestic entrepreneurs to establish new ways of cooperation in this direction, stressing that investment in health is the key to the sustainable development of the nation and the state.
In addition to the plenary session, the forum held in the framework of the Tashkent International Medical Exhibition Healthcare - TIHE 2019 will include thematic sectional sessions and a cooperative exchange.
