First Forum of University Rectors from Uzbekistan and Germany Held in Berlin
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 18 November, a forum aimed at elevating bilateral cooperation in higher education and science to a new level took place in Berlin. The event brought together approximately 200 university and research organization leaders from both countries.
The opening ceremony featured speeches by Dilshod Akhatov, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Germany; Sardor Rajabov, First Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan; and Sandra Leneke, Deputy Head of the International Cooperation Department at the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). They highlighted the emerging strong ties and prospective projects in science, education, and innovation between the two nations.
During the forum, panel sessions on “Education and Academic Cooperation” and “Research and Innovation” addressed the development of joint educational programs, expansion of internship and practical training opportunities in Germany for Uzbek students, establishment of joint scientific centers in strategic areas of research, and the integration of modern technologies.
Participants emphasized that the Uzbekistan-Germany Rectors Forum will serve as a platform for fostering long-term and sustainable collaboration between the two countries’ education systems.
