Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Afghanistan hosted the first consultative dialogue with the Central Asian countries, marking a significant step in strengthening regional cooperation.

The high-level event took place in Kabul and was organized at the initiative of Afghanistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Representatives from five Central Asian countries — Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, and Kazakhstan — attended the dialogue. The main goal was to establish a multilateral political mechanism for coordinating diplomatic efforts, expanding economic interaction, and enhancing regional connectivity.

Afghanistan’s Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi highlighted the deep historical, cultural, and geographic ties between Afghanistan and the region, noting the contributions of prominent scholars such as Imam Abu Hanifa and Imam Bukhari to the shared intellectual heritage of Central Asia.

The Minister also emphasized the need for joint responses to contemporary geopolitical challenges, including security issues in West Asia.

“The first consultative dialogue opens a new chapter in regional cooperation, focusing on economic growth, security, and sustainable development. Continued engagement lays the foundation for a more integrated and prosperous regional future,” reported Afghanistan’s Ariana News agency.
