Fire extinguished on truck at Kamchik Pass
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Emergency services in Uzbekistan have extinguished a fire on a freight truck traveling through the Kamchik Pass, authorities said.
At 15:43 on April 11, the Kamchik Special Rescue Unit received a report of a fire involving an Iveco truck traveling on the Tashkent–Ferghana Valley route along the A-373 highway at the Kamchik Pass section.
Two rescue units were immediately dispatched to the scene. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, rescuers arrived at 15:53, localized the fire by 15:55, and fully extinguished it by 16:00.
As a result of the fire, the truck’s cabin was completely destroyed, and the trailer was partially damaged. However, emergency responders managed to save approximately 90% of the trailer.
Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire and assessing the extent of material damage.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
