Fire Breaks Out in Residential Building in Kokand After Gas Blast, No Casualties Reported

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A flash fire broke out in a residential apartment building in the city of Kokand.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Uzbekistan, a report of the incident was received on 25 February at 14:47 by the Fergana Regional Emergency Management Department via the 112 emergency hotline.

The incident occurred in the Buston mahalla. Emergency response units arrived promptly at the scene and contained and fully extinguished the fire in the shortest possible time.

The situation is fully under the control of the regional emergency management department. No reports of casualties have been received at this time.

Ministry of Emergency Situations personnel are continuing work to address the aftermath of the incident and establish the full circumstances of what occurred.
