Fire Breaks Out at Aviasozlar Market in Tashkent, No Injuries Reported
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A fire broke out on the evening of January 4 at the Aviasozlar (Kadysheva) market in Tashkent’s Yashnabad district, the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.
The fire alert was received by the “112” emergency service at 7:19 p.m. Five minutes later, at 7:24 p.m., four fire and rescue crews arrived at the scene.
The fire was promptly localized and fully extinguished by 7:34 p.m. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, approximately 20 square meters of retail space were damaged by the fire.
The blaze occurred in a shop named Tegen, near the staircase leading to the second floor of the market’s food section, where a major fire had previously been recorded on the night of December 13.
The cause of the fire and the extent of material damage are being determined by specialists.
