Finnish Valtra Plans Agricultural Machinery Projects in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s Minister of Agriculture, Ibrokhim Abdurakhmonov, held a meeting with Mikko Lexikanen, CEO of the Finnish company Valtra, to discuss prospective areas of cooperation and the implementation of joint projects in the field of agricultural machinery manufacturing.

The parties examined in detail issues related to the digital transformation of the agricultural sector, the introduction of precision farming technologies and modern engineering solutions, as well as the exchange of expertise between specialists.

Special attention was given to improving production efficiency, rational resource use, and ensuring environmental sustainability.

Valtra is part of the international AGCO Corporation, a global leader in the production of agricultural machinery and technologies. Valtra’s products are used not only in agriculture but also in municipal services, forestry, defense, and airport infrastructure maintenance.

According to AGCO, the corporation’s turnover in 2024 amounted to 11.2 billion euros, with the Valtra brand holding a significant share of the European market and contributing substantially to overall sales.

The Minister of Agriculture emphasized the importance of accelerating the practical implementation of projects of mutual interest and confirmed the ministry’s readiness to provide comprehensive institutional and organizational support for attracting investments and modern technologies to Uzbekistan’s agricultural sector.

Following the discussions, both parties agreed to implement joint initiatives in stages, aimed at establishing the production of modern agricultural machinery in Uzbekistan.
