Finnish envoy holds talks at Uzbek Foreign Trade Ministry

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 24 October 2018, the Deputy Minister for Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sakhib Saifnazarov received Marja Elina Liivala, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Finland to Uzbekistan with the residence in Helsinki.

At the meeting, the current state and prospects for development of trade-economic relations between the two countries were discussed. Sakhib Saifnazarov acquainted the guest with reforms carried out in the country, including those aimed at liberalizing the economy.

Marja Elina Liivala praised the resolute initiatives of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on comprehensive development of the economy of Uzbekistan and creation of conditions for foreign investors.

Representatives of the Ministry for Foreign Trade noted that there is significant untapped potential in trade-economic sphere between the countries. The Ministry proposed to organize Uzbekistan – Finland business forum in order to jointly develop specific proposals and measures for further expansion of trade-economic cooperation.
