Finnish Companies to Invest US$35 Million in Uzbekistan Green Zone Project
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — During the Uzbek-Finnish business forum held as part of the official visit of President of the Republic of Finland Alexander Stubb to Uzbekistan, a memorandum of understanding was signed on the implementation of the Uzbekistan Green Zone project.
The signing ceremony took place at the Intercontinental Hotel – Tashkent. The document was signed between the Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Finnish companies EPSE Oy and EPSE Technology.
The Uzbekistan Green Zone project is a national initiative aimed at the large-scale processing of industrial waste to extract valuable components, enabling the introduction of sustainable production practices and zero-waste technologies in the country.
The initial cost of the project is estimated at US$35 million. It is expected to serve as a model for the development of environmentally sustainable industry in Uzbekistan.
