Fifth Session of the Uzbek-Belarusian Business Council Held in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 24 February, the fifth session of the Uzbek-Belarusian Business Council was held in Tashkent, coinciding with the visit of the government delegation of the Republic of Belarus to Uzbekistan.

The meeting was attended by Davron Vakhabov, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan; Mikhail Myatlikov, Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry; representatives of relevant ministries and agencies, industry associations, and business communities from both countries.

During the session, the parties emphasized that the Business Council serves as an effective platform to strengthen partnerships between entrepreneurs, promote joint investment projects, and promptly address practical issues.

Currently, 242 enterprises with Belarusian capital operate in Uzbekistan, including 57 joint ventures and 185 foreign-owned companies, reflecting tangible results of bilateral cooperation.

Priority sectors identified include agriculture and food processing, mechanical engineering, textiles and leather products, furniture production, and woodworking. Discussions also focused on implementing new joint investment projects within sectoral commissions.

The meeting concluded with the signing of 12 agreements covering mechanical engineering and agrotechnology, textiles and light industry, pharmaceuticals, construction, food processing, stock exchange trading, and logistics, creating a foundation for further deepening economic and industrial cooperation between the two countries.
