Fifth Meeting of the Uzbek-Belarusian Business Council Held in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The fifth meeting of the Uzbek-Belarusian Business Council took place in Tashkent on 24 February, bringing together more than 200 representatives of the business communities of Uzbekistan and Belarus.

During the session, Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov and Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Turchin emphasized the steady development of the strategic partnership between the two states.

It was noted that thanks to the regular dialogue between Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Belarus's President Alexander Lukashenko, cooperation across all areas has reached a qualitatively new level.

Discussions focused in particular on expanding trade and economic ties, deepening industrial cooperation, implementing joint investment projects, and localizing production. Special attention was given to cooperation in the fields of mechanical engineering, agricultural machinery manufacturing, the food and pharmaceutical industries, textiles, petrochemicals, logistics, and woodworking.

It was noted that mutual trade volumes are growing steadily and are approaching one billion dollars.

On the sidelines of the meeting, entrepreneurs held negotiations in B2B and B2G formats, discussing new contracts and investment agreements. The event served as an important platform for strengthening direct contacts between the business communities of the two countries and advancing new joint projects.
