Ferghana region to export fruits, vegetables for over US$400m in 2016

The region plans to produce 1.947 million tonnes of fruits, vegetables, grapes, potatoes and melons in 2016. This will help to export agriculture products for over US$400 million.

Currently, the area of gardens exceeds 50,000 hectares. Some 8,840 compact greenhouses were created. There are also 180 cold storages with total capacities for 51,800 tonnes of products.

In 2016-2020, it is planned to create 16 new cold storages with the capacity of 11,500 tonnes.
