Ferghana Region Strengthens Cooperation with China and South Korea
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Ferghana Region Governor Khayrullo Bozorov held meetings with investors from China and South Korea to discuss expanding interregional cooperation and implementing joint projects, according to the regional administration.
During a meeting with Ji Xiaodong, Chairman of the China Tourism Chamber, Bozorov highlighted that Uzbekistan-China relations have reached the level of a strategic partnership built on mutual friendship and trust.
China is seen as a leading trade partner and a major investor in the country. The discussion included ongoing projects in Ferghana involving Chinese investors, such as the construction of a shopping center, a hotel, and an industrial park.
Bozorov also met with Kim Dok-Young, Chairman of the South Korean company BOMI Engineering & Construction.
The talks focused on moving agreements reached during the Ferghana delegation’s visit to South Korea in October into practical implementation. Key topics included investment in residential construction, modern hotels, and other major infrastructure projects in the region.
Following the meetings, both sides agreed to continue advancing joint projects and expanding investment cooperation.
