Ferghana Region Hosts Seminar on Developing Tourist Villages with Support from JICA

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — From 11 to 13 February, a seminar-training on “Marketing and Improving Service Quality for Tourist Villages” was held in Rishtan District, Ferghana Region. The event was organized in collaboration between the Tourism Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

The seminar was designed for representatives of existing and planned tourist villages in the Ferghana Region. It focused on enhancing the tourism potential of the regions, improving service quality, and practically applying modern marketing approaches.

With the participation of Ferghana regional administration officials and JICA experts, it was emphasized that the tourist village project plays a vital role in creating local employment, preserving traditional crafts and cultural heritage, and increasing both domestic and inbound tourism flows.

It was noted that hands-on training programs implemented through international cooperation contribute to raising the regional tourism sector to a qualitatively new level.

During the seminar, JICA expert Asami Kinoshita shared international experience in branding tourist villages, developing effective marketing strategies for domestic and international markets, improving hospitality culture, implementing service quality standards, and promoting sustainable tourism principles.

Following the seminar, participants plan to develop practical proposals and initiatives aimed at strengthening marketing activities and improving the quality of tourism services in their regions.

The event is considered significant for enhancing the competitiveness of tourist villages, stimulating local economic development, and further strengthening the tourism infrastructure of the Ferghana Region.
