Ferghana Hosts Talks with Chinese Investors on Technopark Construction and New Projects

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Khayrullo Bozorov, Hokim of Ferghana Region, held a meeting with a delegation led by Gao Wei, Deputy Chairman of the Association of Trade, Commerce and Investment of Tianjin and Head of the Chamber of Commerce of Hohhot, China.

During the discussion, the regional governor highlighted that relations between Uzbekistan and China have reached the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership, with China remaining the country’s largest trading and investment partner.

He noted that in recent years interregional cooperation has intensified, with a number of promising projects underway, and that Ferghana Region has established strong and mutually beneficial ties with Chinese partners.

The parties discussed the development of trade, economic, and investment cooperation between Ferghana Region and Tianjin, the expansion of contacts between regions and chambers of commerce, as well as mechanisms for launching new projects.

The Chinese delegation was briefed on the economic potential of Ferghana Region, investment opportunities for foreign companies, and the conditions created in special industrial zones.

Chinese representatives put forward proposals for the construction of a technopark involving a wide range of investors, the introduction of modern technologies for packaging food and meat products, and the organization of veterinary medicine production.

The hokim emphasized the importance of projects focused on import substitution and export-oriented products, the application of advanced technologies, and the creation of new jobs.

He expressed readiness to provide full support for the implementation of mutually beneficial initiatives, and specific steps for further cooperation were agreed upon following the talks.
