Ferghana and Mazandaran Discuss Joint Projects in Economy, Trade, and Tourism
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Hokim of Ferghana Region Khairullo Bozorov received a large delegation led by the governor of Mazandaran Province of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mahdi Rustami, who arrived in Ferghana on a working visit. The Iranian Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Muhammad Ali Iskandari, also participated in the meeting.
During the negotiations, the parties discussed strengthening and expanding direct contacts in trade and economic cooperation, investments, social and cultural initiatives, agriculture, and tourism. The importance of building sustainable partnerships to implement joint projects in key sectors was emphasized.
The visit program included familiarization with major industrial enterprises in Ferghana Region.
The guests visited the Technopark and trade complex in Margilan, where Iranian startup companies were presented. Special attention was given to the demonstration of Uzbek national silk fabrics and traditional handicrafts at the Crafts Center, which left a strong impression on the guests.
Additionally, the delegation reviewed operations of fruit and vegetable processing enterprises and the production of sanitary ware at the “Ekokeramika” facility in Ferghana District. It was noted that the enterprise operates according to European standards, with a strong focus on product quality, which was highly appreciated by the Iranian guests.
