Ferghana Airport Begins Major Apron Renovation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Major renovation works have commenced on the apron at Ferghana International Airport, the press service of Uzbekistan Airports reports.
The project includes a complete replacement of the worn asphalt concrete surface, reinforcement of the base, and updating all apron elements to comply with modern safety and operational standards.
As part of the renovation, engineering systems such as drainage will be upgraded, and apron lighting will be modernized with energy-efficient equipment. The last major reconstruction of the airport took place in 1991, and no comprehensive renovation has been carried out since then.
Upon completion, the number of aircraft parking stands will increase from seven to nine. This will be achieved through reconfiguring the existing space, updating markings, optimizing aircraft placement, and relocating and adjusting lighting masts.
The works aim to enhance the functionality and safety of the airport, as well as improve service conditions for air transport.
