Farmak plans to invest US$10 million in construction of a pharmaceutical plant in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Ukrainian company Farmak plans to invest US$10 million in the construction of a pharmaceutical plant in Uzbekistan.
Filja Zhebrovskaya, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Farmak, and Alisher Abdualiyev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Ukraine, agreed on the construction of a new pharmaceutical plant in Uzbekistan.
Farmak has been operating in Uzbekistan for more than 15 years. The company sells more than 120 drugs, including socially important medicines.
Filja Zhebrovskaya noted that in order to develop exports, Farmak is considering an investment project with an investment of US$10 million to localize production in Uzbekistan, with the launch of production in bulk and a gradual transition to full cycle production, with the development of technologically more complex products in particularly radiocontrast and biotechnology.
"We are ready to bring our positive experience to the development of the pharmaceutical industry in Uzbekistan to provide the country’s population with high-quality drugs," she added.
Uzbek Ambassador Alisher Abdualiyev said that the new production of Farmak will expand the range of medicines that are produced in Uzbekistan, reduce dependence on imported production and create a basis for further expansion of the pharmaceutical cluster.
