Expired Medicines Seized in Tashkent Region, Investigation Underway

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Authorities from the State Security Service (SSS) of Tashkent Region, in coordination with the Department under the General Prosecutor’s Office, have intercepted the circulation of substandard pharmaceuticals at a pharmaceutical enterprise located in the Parkent Free Economic Zone.

During an inspection of the company’s warehouse facilities, officials discovered 55,840 units of “Menovazin” with expired shelf life, 25,000 units of hydrogen peroxide, 50,800 units of ethyl alcohol, and more than 28 million labels and packaging materials.

It was determined that the expired products were intended to be repackaged and sold as fresh production from 2025–2026.

All identified goods have been confiscated, and an investigation is underway to determine the full circumstances of the violation.
