Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A seminar dedicated to human rights compliance in business operations and the prevention of human trafficking in supply chains was held in Tashkent on 29–30 October 2025.

The event was organized by the National Center of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Human Rights with the support of the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Uzbekistan.

The seminar brought together representatives of government agencies, the Supreme Court, the Prosecutor General’s Office, relevant ministries and departments, the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Uzbekistan, international human rights experts, and staff of diplomatic missions accredited in the country.

The event aimed to raise awareness among business representatives, state institutions, and human rights organizations about the implementation of Human Rights Due Diligence (HRDD), as well as to exchange international best practices in combating human trafficking and labor exploitation.

Over two days, participants discussed international standards and national commitments in the field of “Business and Human Rights,” the draft National Action Plan of Uzbekistan, and the practical aspects of human rights compliance in corporate activities and public procurement.

The seminar continued a series of OSCE initiatives promoting the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and supporting Uzbekistan’s efforts to develop and implement a National Action Plan on Business and Human Rights.

As a result of the seminar, participants developed recommendations for further improving national mechanisms to ensure human rights compliance in the business environment and proposed measures for the effective implementation of the National Action Plan.
