Exhibition “In the heart of Asia” opens in Termez

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- An exhibition “In the heart of Asia” dedicated to the 10th anniversary of joint expedition of the Uzbek and Czech archeologists in Uzbekistan opened at new building of Termez Archeology Museum on 13 September 2013.

The exhibition presented information panels with photos and texts dedicated to research of the Czech and Uzbek archeologists. The exhibition will present some found objects for the first time.

The exhibition will be open for public till the middle of October 2013.

Since 2002, a group of archeologists from Karlov University in Prague have been visiting Sherabad, southern Uzbekistan, to help carry out to research at ancient site. In 2011, the Czech Embassy in Tashkent presented results of the expedition in Tashkent and similar presentation was held in Prague in 2012.

Karlov University published a publication “Archeological research of Javandavlattepa and Sherabad district. 10 years of the Czech-Uzbek archeological expedition”, which was dedicated to this exhibition.
